What We Believe

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

We believe in the Holy Spirit.
John 4:23-24 - But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

John 14:16-17 - And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

We believe that all scripture is the inspired Word of God.
2 Tim. 3:16 -  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way and means of Salvation.
John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 10:9 - I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

We believe in the virgin birth.
Matt. 1:23 - Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

We believe in water baptism.
Matt. 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Acts 2:4 - And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

We believe in the fruit and the gifts of the Spirit.
Gal. 5:22 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
1 Cor. 12:8-10 - For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

We believe in the five-fold ministry as the government of God for His Church.
Eph. 4:11-12 - And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

We believe the Kingdom of God and humanity's role is the primary focus seen in scripture.
Matt. 6:31-33 -  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matt 4:17 - From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Luke 9:2 - And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

We believe the true church is a ruling and reigning church made up of common people called out to establish the Kingdom of God upon the earth.
Rev 5:9-10 - And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Matt 16:18-19 - And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

We believe the church is to conduct spiritual warfare.
Eph. 6:10-18 -  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

We believe the kingdom is present tense as well as eternal and still unfolding.
Matt 4:17 -  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matt 3:2 -  And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matt 6:10 -  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Key Values and Culture

Ministry to God

Our primary emphasis is ministry to God through obedience, relationship, worship and serving a vision that we believe is our part of His will for His larger church.

An Atmosphere of His Presence

In our gatherings our main objective is to create an atmosphere of God’s presence and continually yield to His direction throughout. This is done by Scripturally based and Spirit energized creative worship, and biblically grounded messages that unpack the Heart and revelations of God. The very practice of pursuing the Heart of the Father for that very gathering from start to finish.

Everyone can Minister

Another trademark of our gatherings is giving opportunity for people to share what God has said to them, or testify about what He’s done right there in our midst. We believe every Christian is an able bodied minister and He loves to empower and use yielded vessels for His glory. This belief is especially evident during ministry time when the very congregation gathers and prays for one another. The same Holy Spirit is in us.

Developing New and Active Leaders

We put a strong emphasis on recognizing and developing emerging leaders, especially in the younger generation through intentional discipleship and spiritual fathering. From a place of relationship we are able to help those leaders with recognizing their God given calling. Together we follow God’s process of raising the next generation of five-fold ministry offices to go out and advance the Kingdom of God. This is both a national and international focus.

Unity of the Church

Part of our assignment as a Kingdom Center is to connect leaders, ministries and churches together. One method that helps work towards this is by holding state wide gatherings. Here those of like faith and like mission can find one another, get refreshed, receive impartation and be encouraged that they are not alone and God has a large family of ministers working for His purposes in the earth. In these gatherings even more opportunity is given for everyone to function and increase in their gifting.

Solid Doctrine and Fresh Revelation

We value solid doctrine as well as revelation. One of the prophecies over Iowa is that out of Iowa would come revelation to feed the nation. We are leaning into that through in-depth teaching and training. In addition to teaching in our local gatherings which are usually live streamed, we have an online School of Ministry, Legacy School, we travel out to teach and train leaders, blogging and other written lessons as well as the writing and publishing of books. The more we can invest and advance the believers of Iowa, regardless of city or church affiliation, the better our state is equipped to change our own back yard.

The Power of Prayer

Prayer is certainly a priority. Every historic great move of God was birthed through prayer. We meet weekly on Thursday nights to just pray, for our local body and ministry needs as well as the state of Iowa. Also weekly we are involved in prayer in our state capitol building. During session it is common to get to pray directly with and for legislators. Also we are partnered with the ministry Pray Iowa. On the first Saturday of the month we host Pray Iowa in lieu of our normal Saturday service. This is to specifically pray for Iowa and its people.

Apostolic Alignment

The Base offers apostolic alignment and commissioning of Kingdom leaders and have several active leaders taking advantage of this. First and foremost through relationship and out of actually knowing one another and the real challenges going on, then we are able to offer counseling, encouragement and commissioning into greater assignment. Even beyond the familiar ministry area of the church, we encourage Christians and the church to pursue their passions in other walks of life and to bring biblical, Godly principles and influence to the other mountains of culture: business, civil government, education, media, arts and entertainment and certainly not least… family. It’s ok to be called to be a father, or a wife or a CEO. God is limitless and there are unlimited ways to serve Him.
